Radical Torah Thought
I'm writing a review of Fokkelman's Reading Biblical Narrative for a class. He suggests that the narrator of the Bible is omniscient. G-d, however, seems to be just a character in the stories. Does that mean the narrator is more knowledgeable that G-d?
Food for Thought
In Judaism, biblical canon was not decided all at once in a council. In fact, canon does not have to be one set thing.
Biblical canon are all the books on your bookshelf that you think add to Torah.

Channukah Parties
One of the things that I love about Channukah is the way that it brings people together. Ok, most holidays do that. But somehow it is extra light-hearted on Channukah. Everyone wants to celebrate, and there are parties everywhere, especially the weekend of Channukah (and with an 8 day holiday, there is always a weekend). Unfortunately, we missed one party we wanted to go to Thursday night because it started later than we thought. So, Meital missed out on a pony ride. Instead, today she got to see an elephant up close. If we had gotten there earlier, she could have even ridden it! She didn't seem to mind not riding the elephant, though, because she got to ride on a train.
